Hello Fabulous captains!

I spoke with Jana Shumway about the flip flop ban at the Conference Center, and explained that since our dance is barefoot, we had encouraged our kids to wear flip flops so they could easily leave them under their chairs when we go up onstage. The point has been debated among all the higher-ups, and it was agreed that all of the groups who are doing barefoot dances can wear flip flops to these rehearsals. We might not have a chance to return to our seats, so we are asking all the leaders to bring a grocery sack to collect the kids' shoes and other belongings, though they're not supposed to bring anything else. Leaders will be sitting as endcaps on each row of youth, so the bags you bring will contain the shoes of the kids in your row. There will be sixteen youth in each row and two adults.

If you haven't called your youth yet, please remind them to meet up for rides at 4:30, eat an enormous lunch, bring a sack dinner to eat in the car or parking garage afterward (depending on your personal car eating rules), and wear slip-on shoes or flip flops.

We will meet outside of door 12 at 5:30 and stand in our starting position for the hula in order to organize our seating in the Conference Center. If you are facing the stage, our group will be sitting on the second (terrace) level on the far left. We are Section 13. We will have the Mia Maids sit at the top, then the Laurels, then Beehives, then all the Young Men.

Thank you so much!
Natalie Conforto

Hello wonderful captains!
Thank you so much for everything you have done so far with the temple celebration! As we get closer to May 30th, Life is going to get crazier, but I am also noticing that I am feeling an excitement in the air for how incredible this is going to be. I hope you can all feel that also. I know that our youth are going to have an unforgettable experience. I have some date changes and news for you, so please pass this information along to your youth!First, If you have not turned in the image release form yet, please do so on Weds. Make sure that you are also on there so that you can get a cast pass! Second: for the choir, here is information directly from an email I got from Merrilee Webb:

Auditions for the Finale solos "Come to the Mountain of the Lord" will be held on Saturday, May 2 from 9-11 am. Have your youth who are interested in auditioning call Jen Powell at 801-699-9129 between the hours of 5pm and 9pm to set up a time.

Auditions will be held at the LDS chapel located at 1495 W. Tamarack Road in Taylorsville. From I15 take the 45th South exit, head west to 1175 West. Turn right (north) on 1175 West. Make an immediate left onto Tamarack Road. The church will be on the left after the Lutheran church. Please make sure your youth come with the pdf file emailed to captains filled out. They must also attach a picture to the information sheet. All auditions must be scheduled. We won't be accepting any "walk ups" that day.

Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:

Will the leaders be singing with the choir during the performance?
No. Only the youth will be performing as the choir and dancers.

What kind of black shoes can the girls wear?
Because they will be walking as they sing, we want them to be wearing shoes that have a heel so they won't fall off as they walk.

Do the girls need to wear pantyhose? What color?
Yes, off black.

What are my responsibilities as a leader during the May 16th rehearsal?
We will need you to make sure the kids are where they're supposed to be as well as take care of any needs that arise.

What about makeup?
Because the choir won't be under heavy lighting, for make-up purposes, have the girls wear a little darker make-up than usual. The boys won't need any stage make-up.

( I will have copies of the pdf they need on Weds)
Third: Dates have been given for dress rehearsals. The biggest change is that next week there is an Adult orientation and safety walkthrough for ALL adults. That is the SEC, directors, captains, and youth leaders. In other words, if you are receiving this email, you NEED to be there! It is Tuesday, April 28th from 6-10 p.m. Because of that, obviously we cannot have our youth practice on that night. The Stevens are checking on if they can reschedule the stake center for Weds, the 29th and I will let you know as soon as we hear anything!

Dress rehearsal dates are as follows:
April 28th Adults at Conference center 6-10

May 9th 6-8 p.m. dance only
May 16th 1:30-4:30 Choir only
May 21st dance only 4-10 p.m. (big one...we will have more info soon on dinner needs)
May 28th FULL CAST dress rehearsal 5-10p.m.
May 30 performance 7pm (we don't have a check in time yet, plan on EARLY)

We are fully aware that some of these are long rehearsals and some are midweek. Please be positive as you pass this information along to the youth and their parents. We are all going to be sacrificing time, and other obligations as we prepare for the celebration. A great attitude goes a long way!!!!!

Thank you for your patience with the changes. I will continue to get information to you as soon as I get it. We are looking forward to practice this Weds again with Cobble Creek. Thank you for helping the directors with keeping order and teaching the youth. This would not be happening without you! See you all on Weds!

March 14th Adult Dance Practice - CHANGE IN MEETING PLACE

Thank you so much to everyone who attended the meeting on Sunday. We know it was a lot to throw at you, but we hope in reading the information, you are able to understand better what is needed. It all boils down to getting the youth informed and to the practices. Don't stress over the groups of 10. If how we broke up the groups doesn't work for your ward, feel free to rearrange!
We appreciate the great turnout from the young women's presidencies, and our lone YM presidency member! Please make sure that at the practices there is adequate coverage from BOTH YW and YM presidencies from your ward.
The adult dance practice on Sat March 14th is from 12-2p.m. It has been moved to the Hayden Peak Bldg (the one with the green roof off of 7800 and Grizzly) due to a funeral. Please inform all of your captains and presidency members of this change.
Also, as soon as you have your captains assigned please get their contact information to me so that I can pass it to the captains of 50.
Thank you!
See you Saturday!

Due to another meeting just announced for some of the priesthood leaders, President Zeisler has asked us to move the youth fireside to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday March 15th at the Oaks.We will still have the youth home at a decent hour, as this is not a long fireside, more of a kickoff!

Please make the time change on the flyers before passing them out or hanging them up, and have it put in the Sunday program. Thank you!Kim Foster

The Text Site is Available!

Dear Team,

The text site is available!! How exciting!! We are hoping that you will get the word out to all youth through the YM/YW leaders. We are also hoping that announcements will be made on sunday so that all youth will be able to access it. This is what they need to do:
Text the word "mountain" to 83043.
Each text that is sent out costs money so the general committee is asking that only youth access the text site.

How exciting to be involved in this great project!!
